Wrong plankton means no sharks

A lead researcher from Manx Basking Shark Watch says she's hopeful more of the gentle giants will appear in Manx waters later this summer.

Whilst we're in the peak period for shark spotting around the Island, so far this year sightings have been few and far between.

Speaking from their research vessel, Jackie Hall from MBSW says the main problem is that their favourite food just isn't around . . .

If you do spot any basking sharks, please log your sighting on the Manx Basking Shark Watch Website, manxbaskingsharkwatch.com
