A lasting tribute to a Manxman who was killed in the First World War has been unveiled at the Manx Museum today (10 April).
Thomas Sayle Corlett of Ballaugh lost his life in the battle of Passchendaele on the Western Front, in 1917.
His descendants have looked after the cross which marked his battlefield grave, since it was returned to them in 1927.
The family lent the memorial to the museum for its exhibition This Terrible Ordeal, which ends this weekend.
To keep Thomas's memory alive, the family will today present a cup to a Ballaugh community group, at the cross on display in the museum.
It's intended as an annual award for a child in the village who has achieved something special.
