Younger generation 'desperate' to take part in seas initiative

Big Blue Bag seeks to assess health of marine environments

An initiative to assess the health of the seas means people of all ages can be ocean researchers, according to the man behind it.

The Big Blue Bag test involves people using the equipment inside the bags to collect data on things like microplastic pollution and coastal debris.

The Island was chosen to be the springboard because of its biodiversity credentials.

Broadcaster and marine biologist Monty Halls believes younger generations are particularly keen to make a difference:
