Youngsters deck the halls at The Grove

Children from Marown school are helping create a traditional Victorian Christmas at The Grove Museum in Ramsey today (Thurs 6).

Year 2 pupils will decorate a large tree standing at the top of the stairs at the grand holiday homes of the Gibbs family.

The youngsters will hang garlands made from orange and cinnamon then gather round the tree to sing Manx Christmas carols complete with traditional Manx instrumental accompaniment.

Children from eight Island schools are having a taste of the Victorian Christmas at the Grove this month, making cakes from a recipe by Mrs Beeton and creating Victorian Christmas cards.
