Youths warned about tombstoning

Members of the public are being warned about the dangers jumping into harbours - so-called "tombstoning".

The Ports Division of the Department of Infrastructure says children in particular may be unaware of the dangers from boats maneuvering, the shock that can occur from entering cold water suddenly and not knowing the depth of water.

Operations Manager Harbour and Coastguard, Colin Finney, says whilst there haven't been any serious accidents thus far, they want to keep it that way - and  anyone told to stop their activities by a Ports Division officer should do so immediately
