250cc and Formula Classic T.T. Races dropped

The 250cc and Formula Classic T.T. Races have been dropped from next year's Classic T.T. race programme due to the limited number of entries and finishers at the inaugural 2013 event.

However the machines will still be allowed to compete in the 350cc and Formula One Classic contests.

Once again, the Classic T.T. will be held over the first weekend of the fortnight long Festival of Motorcycling following a week of practice.

There will be a Paddock carnival on Friday 22nd August, the Bennetts 500cc Classic T.T. is scheduled for Saturday 23rd August and the following day see the popular Festival of Jurby.

The four day event will finish with the Okells 350cc Classic and the combined Motorsport Merchandise Formula One and Two Classic T.T. races on Monday 25th August.

The festival also includes the Manx Grand Prix with races set for Wednesday 27th and Friday 29th August as well as the Manx Two-Day Trial, the Manx Classic Trial and the Vintage Motor Cycle Club rally.

A number of class trophies will also be introduced at the Classic T.T. and will be named after legendary riders Joey Dunlop, Mike Hailwood, Geoff Duke and Phil Read.

And the regulations governing the definitions of a GP Rider and a Privateer Rider have been changed following feedback from teams, competitors, commercial partners and fans.
