As Tynwald weekend approaches, a Manxman is preparing for the biggest race in world cycling.
Laxey rider Mark Cavenish will start the Tour de France tomorrow amongst the favourites to record a stage win.
He's identified four stages in the opening ten days which he feels will be decided by a sprint finish - Cav is now widely recognised as the fastest finisher around.
Team Isle of Man Cycling Manager Gary Hinds fully expects Cavendish to register a victory, but he doesn't expect him to complete the full Tour de France:-
Hockey: Two wins for travelling junior sides
Rugby: Vagabonds ladies stay with Island based sponsor
Athletics: Christa Cain second in Athens 10km
Taekwondo: Three golds for Isle of Man competitor at British Championships
