'Government not interested in Ramsey', says candidate


There's still a lack of investment in Ramsey.

That's the belief of local commissioner Leonard Singer who is hoping to claim one of the town's two seats in September's House of Keys general election.

The 68-year-old pharmacist was an MHK for the town until 2003, then became an MLC, before failing to win back his seat in the lower chamber in the last election.

Mr Singer says the question of whether there should be 24-hour GP cover at Ramsey Cottage Hospital is no longer such an important issue for voters, but they are very concerned about the run-down state of the town and, despite recent stories about regeneration, the government hasn't shown any real interest:
