'Room for improvement in voting register'

Voter registration could still be a lot better in the Isle of Man, according to a local advocate.

There has been a sharp rise in the number of voters, from 52,000 in 2006 to 60,000 for today's general election.

Advocate John Wright (pictured) is a former returning officer in three different constituencies.

He says the percentage of eligible voters who are registered is still below acceptable levels elsewhere in the British Isles:
