David Anderson has held onto his seat in Glenfaba, but he was run pretty close by his main challenger Geoffrey Boot.
Mr Anderson polled 649 votes to Mr Boot's 557, representing 46.3 and 39.7 per cent respectively of the total polled.
Matthew Wadsworth was some way behind in third place, with 189 votes.
Speaking on Manx Radio immediately after the result was declared, Mr Anderson (pictured) seemed relieved:
