James Toseland recorded his third sixth place of the season at yesterday's Italian MotoGP in Mugello.
It was a strong finish from the Ramsey resident, considering he'd had only one dry practice session to prepare his Tech 3 Yamaha for a circuit he hadn't raced on before.
Speaking afterwards Toseland said it was the hardest race he'd had all year but was pleased with his performance given his limited track time.
The race was won by Valentino Rossi, his seventh consecutive MotoGP victory on home soil.
It was also his third win in a row this season, further extending his lead at the top of the points table.
Reigning champion Casey Stoner was second, with Spain's Dani Pedrosa third.
