Manx sprinter has emerged as one of the Island's latest athletics talents

Isle of Man athlete, Carla Teece says it would be a dream to represent the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games.

The 18-year-old has emerged as one of the Island's up-and-coming talents in athletics and made her Island Games debut at the age of just 16 in 2023.

What's more, the sprinter was a finalist in the Women's 100m race at this year's games in Orkney and made the event despite battling with glandular fever earlier this year.

Carla told Manx Radio it would 'mean a lot' to compete at the Commonwealth event in future, something her father did previously:

At this year's Island Games, Teece contested the Women's 100m events finishing second in her opening heat and then third in the semi-final stage.

That saw her qualify for the final in which she finished just outside the medals in fourth.

Separately, she was also part of the Women's 4x100m Relay squad with Meghan Pilley, Lucy Ormsby and Georgia Price.
