Association making urgent plea to appoint league secretary
The new Isle of Man badminton season is in danger of not running at all, unless a key role is filled in the immediate future.
That's according to the Isle of Man Badminton Association which says, at present, it still does not have a League Secretary to look after the respective divisions.
The organisation warns that if no interest is registered in the role before the end of this Friday (11 September) 'we will proceed on the basis that the leagues will not be running this season' and that 'bookings will need to be cancelled.'
In the urgent plea to those involved in the sport locally, officials add 'the ball is now in your court, for someone to come forward to take on the post, or there will be no badminton matches this season.'

"For the attention of everyone who played in last seasons league fixtures.
"At present we do not have a League secretary to look after the running of the Leagues, this role is significantly smaller now than in previous years and will be in conjunction with Nick and Steven, who have set up a new online system for the Leagues.
"If we do not have anyone interested in taking on the role by the end of Friday 11th September, we will proceed on the basis that the leagues will not be running this season. And bookings will need to be cancelled.
"Nick and Steven have tried to give everyone as much notice and support as possible and made their position clear from the start.
"The ball is now in your court, for someone to come forward to take on the post, or there will be no badminton matches this season."
