There's still a way to go but Jonny Bellis is regaining consciousness as he continues his fightback from serious head injuries suffered almost a month ago.
Team Isle of Man coach Mike Doyle, who's also Jonny's uncle, says doctors at the CTO Hospital in Florence took him out of the induced coma at the weekend and he's slowly coming around.
The 21-year-old cycling star received skull fractures and bruising to the brain in a scooter accident near his Tuscan base three-and-a-half weeks ago and up until the weekend had been in the induced coma ever since.
Mike says it's a gradual process:
Hockey: Two wins for travelling junior sides
Rugby: Vagabonds ladies stay with Island based sponsor
Athletics: Christa Cain second in Athens 10km
Taekwondo: Three golds for Isle of Man competitor at British Championships
