Boxing: Jade Burden officially receives professional licence

News of 'The Grenade's' first fight expected 'very soon'

Manx boxer Jade Burden has now officially received her licence to box professionally in the sport.

Having met with the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBofC) in late 2023, 'The Grenade' becomes the first female from the Isle of Man to professionally compete in the sport.

In an update on her social media channels, it says news of Burden's first pro fight is expected 'very soon' with preparations in camp well underway.

Having competed regularly in the last 18 months on Island and further afield - she'd also previously set a benchmark in becoming the first female boxer to compete for the Isle of Man at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022.

Burden becomes the latest Island fighter to head into the professional ranks alongside the likes of Mathew Rennie and Jamie Devine.
