A sixth general election candidate has thrown his hat into the ring in the two-seat constituency of East Douglas.
John Karran is a chef, who lives in Aukland Grove, off Dalton Street.
He says work commitments have always prevented him from standing in the past, but now, at the age of 62, he is ready to give it a go.
Mr Karran says the reduction in government revenue from VAT must be addressed through a quickly planned Economy Recovery Strategy.
He believes a long-term plan, for up to ten years, to take the Isle of Man back to where it was before the renegotiations is of major importance for its recovery, and the well-being of the population.
The five other candidates in East Douglas are outgoing members Brenda Cannell and Chris Robertshaw, and challengers Richard Kissack, Paul Moulton and Geraldine O'Neill.
