A general election candidate in Onchan has withdrawn from the contest.
James Corrin has decided not to take part for personal reasons.
The former trade union official announced he would be seeking one of the three Onchan seats on June 22.
Mr Corrin says some people may ridicule his decision to withdraw after such a short period of time, but believes it is better to have tried and failed than to have never tried at all.
He is thanking all his supporters and friends in Onchan who, he says, are aware of his reasons for withdrawing and respect them.
Five people are now chasing the three seats, namely Peter Karran and David Quirk, who are seeking re-election, Zac Hall, and local commissioners June Kelly and Brian Stowell.
