Carney hat-trick lifts Gymns

A Zoe Carney hat-trick helped Gymns to victory on Sunday.

It was officially their first victory of the season in the Warehouse Fitness League (their only other success against Rushen Utd was expunged following the club’s withdrawal from the league).

Gill Christian netted the other in a 4-2 win over Peel.

The western response came via efforts from Katie Meads and Nicola Naden.

DHSOB moved into third place following an 8-1 victory at Laxey.

Four-goal Hattie Castle led the rout with Rachael Christian and Helen Cooper also on target for the Blackberry Lane outfit.

The Miners’ reply came from Ruth Bailey.

Corinthians remain top following a 2-0 win over 10 player Castletown.

Lisa Costain netted a goal in each half for the reigning champions.

Douglas Royal maintained the pressure with a 9-1 win over Colby.

Leading 6-0 at the break, Donna Shimmin (four), Bekki Cole (four) and Kym Hicklin netted for the Whites.

The southern consolation was scored by Ali Gill.
