Champs flex their muscles

Catch us if you can!

That’s the message from the men’s and women’s champions in Manx hockey.

In the PWC Men’s Premier League on Saturday, reigning champions Bacchas A maintained their 100 per cent record with a 7-3 thrashing of Vikings A in the top of the table clash.

A hat-trick from Jonny Callow, two from Andy Whiting and one apiece from Karl Moore and Jamie Brown moved them five points clear at the top.

Tom Wilson and Johnny Verrall (two) replied for Vikings who remain in second.

Valkyrs A are just a point behind them after a 4-1 success against Ramsey A who are now bottom.

Greg Miller, Juan Killey, Julian Colley and Gareth Morris were the men on target.

Castletown A are off the bottom after a fine 3-0 win over Bacchas B.

Penalties from Steve Ronan and Daniel Cross, plus a Danny Kniveton strike, moved the southerners up two places.

In the PWC Women’s Premier League, Vikings A have also got a 100 per cent record.

They moved four points clear at the summit after a 5-0 win over Valkyrs A.

Two each from Kim Carney and Zoe Crowe and one from Mia Greenwood ensured they remain the dominant force in the women’s game.

Bacchas A stay fourth after a 7-1 triumph against battling Castletown A, courtesy of goals from Sophie Hudson (three), Freya Duchars (two), Abbey Magee and Elly Pearson.

Lisa Cook replied for Town.
