Sprinter takes on leadership role in team
Mark Cavendish has re-signed with Dimension Data for 2019.
The news has been confirmed in a tweet from the team.
The news comes after a difficult season for the Manx Missile, who had no wins in this year's Tour de France and was diagnosed with Epstein-Barr virus.
The 33-year-old sprinter has admitted that 2017 and 2018 have been "very difficult years" for him.
In addition to riding for Dimension Data, Cav will take on a leadership role within the team as part of a newly-formed supervisory board.
The announcement ends speculation that Cavendish would join another team - he had been linked to Bahrain-Merida with sponsor McLaren.
Cav will be looking to equal - or better - Eddy Merckx all-time record of 34 Tour wins.
He currently has 30 stage victories to his name.
