Cav hints at Olympic frustration

Manxman unhappy at leaving Tour

It's being reported Manx cycling superstar Mark Cavendish is frustrated in the build-up to the track cycling at the Olympics in Rio.

An article in the Daily Telegraph suggests he is unhappy at leaving the Tour de France early when it now looks like he won't be part of the team pursuit effort as well as competing in the omnium.

The Manx Missile was asked whether he would play a role in the pursuit and is quoted as saying "probably not unfortunately. If I'm honest, that's the reason I left the Tour early, because of the team pursuit. For the omnium, finishing the Tour would've been a benefit."

There is also a hint of tension in comments made about Sir Bradley Wiggins - "Brad has been super stressed. He wants to be a hero and all that. I'm kind of just doing the omnium stuff now, I think."
