Champs in ominous form

The domination seemingly continues for the top sides in Manx hockey.

On Saturday in the PwC Women’s Premier Division, reigning champions Vikings A demolished Castletown A 10-0.

Trebles from Louise Slater and Kim Carney and further strikes from Sarah Blackman (two), Breesha Foxton and Chelsea Bawden maintained their 100 per cent record.

Elsewhere, Tamsin Cleveley hit two and Andrea Lace netted the other as Valkyrs A saw off Bacchas A 3-0, while Vicki Garner was the star of the show in Ramsey A’s 7-0 victory over Bacchas B.

She scored four with Ellen Robinson (two) and Amy Stoutt grabbing the others.

In the PwC Men’s Premier Division, champions Bacchas A extended their lead with a 9-1 success over Castletown A – Jonny Callow (four), Andy Whiting (three), Jamie Brown and Tom Wilson the marksmen.

Vikings A overcame a spirited showing from Bacchas B to move up to third in the table.

A Dave Millward hat-trick and a Conor Byrne double sealed a 5-3 win.

Karl Moore, Craig Leece and Richard Le Page kept Bacchas B in the hunt.
