Clinical Douglas beat Medics

Vagabonds downed at Oldershaw

Douglas proved too strong for Manchester Medics, running out 62-10 winners at Port-e-Chee and keeping the pressure on their rivals at the top of South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.

Sam Randle was once again the star of the show for Douglas as he ran in four tries.

The try bonus point was secured good and early by Douglas with four tries in the opening half hour.

Randle running in two with additional scores from Rob Todd and Lance Wyllie and two conversions from Luke Hyland.

In the second half, Randle added two more and there were also tries from Max Morley-Green, Carl Markl-Ferns and Hyland who added two more conversions before handing over kicking duties to Will Cain who kicked one.

Douglas’ lead in the standings was extended to six points after second place Broughton Park lost at home to Liverpool St Helens.

Vagabonds travelled to struggling Oldershaw in Division Two with high hopes for a win on the road.

It wasn’t to be with Oldershaw winning 43-12 to secure their first success of the season.

Vagas face Ruskin Park next week at Ballafletcher.
