Smith fires southerners to final

Colby are through to the final of the GH Corlett Woods Cup.

That’s after they saw off first-time semi-finalists Douglas & District 3-0 on their home turf.

Two goals from Jordan Primrose Smith and one from Adam Fretwell did the damage for the southerners.

There was also a preliminary round tie in the competition as favourites Douglas Athletic earned a 3-1 success over 10-man Douglas Royal.

Mark Wolfenden hit two and Karl Gartland netted the other with Paul Whitley on target for Royal, who had Craig Dolman sent-off.
