Corinthians won the Warehouse Fitness Women’s FA Cup yesterday (Sunday).
They survived a late scare to defeat Peel 3-2 in the final at the Bowl.
Two goals from Lisa Costain and a Leonie Roberts penalty sealed the victory by the hour mark.
However, Peel staged a comeback with Sarah Wignall pulling a goal back from the penalty spot before Sarah O’Reilly scored against her former club in injury time.
Corinthians, who were reduced to 10 players in the closing stages after Jade Burden was dismissed for a second booking, held on and are also in pole position to go on and clinch a league and cup double.
