Club says it will 'meet growing needs' and 'enhance training capabilities'
Crosby Cricket Club has received a significant financial boost to carry out upgrades to its facilities.
A £50,000 grant awarded by the Manx Lottery Trust has enabled the replacement of training nets which had been in place for 14 years.
As a result, there are now three lanes available instead of two at the site and allows the club to address what's described as 'safety concerns related to the current location.'
Kevin Quine of Crosby Cricket Club says: "We are incredibly thankful to the Manx Lottery Trust for their generous support.
"This grant will allow us to upgrade our facilities and meet the growing needs of our club and the local community.
"The new net setup will help us enhance our training capabilities, especially for our youth teams, and create a safer, more effective practice environment for everyone."
The grant has been provided through Manx Lottery Trust's Community Awards Programme.
It's also hoped the renovations will aid the club's ability to host youth training, women's cricket sessions and community activities.
