Manx squad to contest qualifier phase in Finland in August 2026
The Isle of Man now knows which nations it will face in the qualifying phase for the 2028 ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The Manx side will be part of the Europe pathway and have been drawn in Qualifier C with matches being held in Finland from 14-26 August next year.
Other nations to be part of the same qualifier as the Isle of Man will be Bulgaria, Czechia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Israel, Luxembourg, Portugal and Spain.
Isle of Man Cricket says preparations with the Manx squad are already underway with sessions taking place at the new indoor facility in Tromode.
Elsewhere, fellow crown dependencies, Guernsey and Jersey will also be part of the qualifiers in Qualifier A which will take place in Cyprus from 16-23 May, 2026.
The remaining group - Qualifier B - is taking place in Denmark from 8-15 July, 2026.
As a whole, the qualifications structure will see Europe's 30 competing teams divided across three events with the top-performing sides progressing to the next phase.
England, Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands will enter the pathway at a later stage due to their participation in next year's ICC Men's T20 World Cup.
The ICC's Regional Development Manager, Andy Wright, says: "The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2028 pathway will showcase the tremendous depth and development of cricket across Europe.
"We are delighted to partner with Cyprus, Denmark and Finland as hosts—three nations that have demonstrated strong commitment to growing the game. These events will deliver high-quality cricket and provide players with invaluable international experience."
