Cup success for Ramsey A and Town

Ramsey A confirmed their emergence as a force in Manx hockey by clinching the Men’s Cup on Saturday.

Dan Stevenson was the star of the show with a final hat-trick as they defeated Valkyrs A 3-2.

It was a fine success for Ramsey against Valkyrs, who started the final as slight
favourites.

Gerry Quinn hit a double for them but it was Ramsey’s day and sparked northern celebrations.

Castletown A are also celebrating after a penalty flick victory against Bacchas A in the Women’s Cup Final.

The match was level at 1-1 with Lauren Stewart scoring for Town before the southerners triumphed on flicks to take the silverware.

In the Men’s Plate Final, Bacchas B finished another excellent season for the club on a high.

Danny Shuttleworth was the hero with a late goal as they took the trophy with a 1-0 victory over Saracens A.

And women’s Division One champions Vikings A completed a league and plate double in style as they thrashed Harlequins 8-1.

As so often this season, Kim Carney and Karen Faragher were the heroes with hat-tricks apiece.

Kirsty Hunt notched a double of her own with regular scorer Alison Hurd grabbing the Quins’ consolation.
