Island rider narrowly misses out on medal

Isle of Man rider, Matthew Bostock has narrowly missed out on a Commonwealth Games medal, finishing fourth in the Men's 10km Scratch Race Final this evening (1 August).

The Manxman was in contention on the final lap of the contest before being pipped by England's Ethan Vernon to bronze.

Meanwhile, Henry Hobbs of England took gold whilst Australia's Thomas Cornish secured silver.

It's a second fourth-placed finish for Bostock at these games after taking the same spot in the standings in the Men's 4,000m Individual Pursuit final last night (31 July).

Meanwhile, Bostock's teammate, Ben Swift was also involved in this evening's race but was DNF after being involved in crash on the penultimate lap - the rider is okay.
