Cycling: Cavendish back in action at Milano-Torino

Manxman became first British rider to win event back in 2022

After a challenging Tirreno-Adriatico last week it's a quick turnaround for Mark Cavendish who returns to competitive action in Europe today (13 March).

The 'Manx Missile' has been named in the Astana Qazaqstan squad to take on the Milano-Torino one-day event.

In 2022 the now 38-year-old won the race with his former team Quick-Step AlphaVinyl to become the first British rider to take top spot at the event in its 103 editions to that point.

The Milano-Torino is considered by some to be the oldest cycling race in the world having first been staged in 1876.

Today's race is due to get underway at around 10.30am UK time.
