Island rider impresses during USA meeting

Manx pro cyclist Matthew Bostock has won the Clarendon Cup at the 2025 Armed Forces Cycling Classic in the USA.

The Island rider claimed top spot in the 100km event in Arlington, Virginia on Sunday, 1 June completing the course in two hours, ten minutes and seven seconds.

In a close-fought sprint to the finish he managed to fend off DCC competitor Dario Rapps who came home second and Golden State Blazers rider Jim Brown in third.

Separately the day before (31 May), Bostock had finished 28th in the 90-minute Capitol Cup in Washington DC race which is part of the same meeting.

Following his success, Bostock took to social media to say he was 'buzzing' to get his first victory with new team TEKKERZ CCwith the result after he 'came close to calling it a day' at the end of the last campaign.

Bostock's post says: "Last year, we (Rebellion) came over with a plan to win races — and we did. But personally, I wasn’t where I needed to be. Motivation was low, I kept finding myself just off the podium, and I properly exploded with 5 laps to go in this race.

"Honestly, I was close to calling it a day at the end of last season after a tough few years. But with some big new goals in sight and a fresh mindset, I committed to the work properly over the winter.

"This is more than just a result. It’s a reflection of the hard work and proof of what’s possible with a bit of belief, consistency, and good people around you."
