Teammate Cees Bol also enjoyed strong campaign
Mark Cavendish secured a top-ten finish in the general classifications at the recent ZLM Tour in the Netherlands.
The Manx Missile finished ninth for the overall event, with his Astana Qazaqstan teammate, Cees Bol, also inside the GC top-ten finishing sixth.
In the opening prologue stage, Cavendish finished 35th before climbing the standings on the first stage proper to cross the line in 14th.
After that, Cavendish managed a 110th place finish on stage two followed by securing a spot in the top 50 on stage three in 47th.
The fourth and final stage was another strong showing as Cavendish just missed out on UCI points to finish 16th.
