A much changed Vagabonds side lost out 39-24 at Glencrutchery Road to high flying Widnes.
The visitors led 25-5 at half-time with Vagas’ score coming from prop Ben Woods.
Two tries from Bryan Kennaugh, converted by Jonny Beckley, gave Vagas some hope in the second half but, when Widnes added two of their own, Kevin Riley’s late score for Vagas was little more than a consolation.
