Dominant win for defending champions

Wins also for Castletown and Cronkbourne

There was some great bowling and three big wins in the Isle of Man Premiership on Saturday.

Champions Peel and St John’s were at their very best as they dismissed Ramsey for just 40.

Akkie van den Berg took 4 wickets for just seven runs and there were three-wicket hauls for Kieran Cawte and Nick Hawke.

The Saints knocked off the runs for the loss of one wicket – Ollie Webster made 27 not out.

Batting first at Tromode Crosby found the going hard against Cronkbourne and ended on 67 all out after 33 overs.

Danny Kniveton top scored with 21 while Jaco Jansen took three wickets for two runs in five overs.

Sam Kebble and Carl Wagstaffe also claimed three wickets each.

Opener Max Stokoe then guided Cronkbourne to victory by six wickets with an excellent 35.

Castletown found form when they beat Valkyres.

The Town ran up 219 for 8, mainly thanks to a fine 64 from George Burrows and 30 by Richard Jackson.

Sam Collister then struck - he took 6 for 30 as Valkyres struggled with his splendid pace bowling.

They were dismissed for 66 to give Castletown their first win of the season.
