O’Shea stars in Vagas’ romp
After a somewhat surprising defeat last week, Douglas got themselves back into the winning groove with a 36-15 win away at Anselmians in South Lancashire/Cheshire Division One.
Player-coach Carl Murray picked up two tries for Douglas with other scores coming from Max Morley-Green, Sam Randle and Ralph Clarke.
Luke Hyland kicked a penalty and four conversions as Douglas secured a bonus point win and maintained their lead at the top of the standings.
Vagabonds made light work of Moore in Division Two with an 85-14 victory at Ballafletcher.
Vagas led comfortably 49-0 at half-time after tries from Tom Gascoyne, Aidan O’Shea (two), Daf Lewis, Sam Liver, Chris Bass and Joe Louw.
To make it worse for Moore, O’Shea converted all seven in a flawless first half flourish.
In the second half O’Shea completed his hat-trick and there were additional tries from Callum Donald, Matty Jones, Paul Howard (two) and Steve McHugh, plus another three conversions for the majestic O’Shea who finished with a personal haul of 35 points.
Phil Woollacot scored both Moore tries which, while deserved, were little more than consolation.
