Douglas hopes new rugby rivalry will help club go semi-pro

Inaugural Crown Cup takes place in Guernsey this month

A Manx rugby club hopes an annual match against Guernsey Raiders will help the team become semi-professional.

Douglas Rugby Club will travel to Guernsey later this month for the inaugural Crown Cup.

The Raiders play national league rugby, something Douglas is hoping to achieve in the next three years.

Douglas's director of rugby Carl Murray hopes it will show the Manx players what they need to do to reach that goal:
