Douglas maintain momentum

Douglas edged out Dukinfield 33-17 at Port-e-Chee to keep their 100 per cent start to the season.

They led 19-10 at half time with tries coming from Liam King, Bryn Snellgrove and Nick Horsthuis, plus two conversions from Goodall.

In the second half, skipper Goodall bagged the bonus point try for his side before Niall Killey made the game and the five points well and truly safe.

Vagabonds were also winners in South Lancashire/Cheshire Divison Two as they fought back from 14-3 down at half-time away at Wallasey to take the game and secure a winning bonus point to boot.

After Johnny Beckley’s penalty was their only score in the opening half, Vagabonds made up for it in the second period with tries from Ross McCulloch, Matt Rockwell, skipper Mark Howarth and Ross Jones, with two more Beckley penalties making up their total.

A much depleted Ramsey side were beaten comprehensively 67-0 by Oswestry as the club’s miserable autumn continued.

The squad must now pick themselves up with back-to-back Isle of Man games coming up.

Ormskirk are the visitors to the Mooragh next week and they face an unbeaten Douglas in two weeks time.
