Football: Corinthians extend lead at the top of premier league to six points 

Defending champions Peel beaten in second week running

Corinthians extended their lead at the top of the Canada Life Premier League in emphatic fashion at the weekend (19 September). 

They beat Onchan 7-1 to go six points clear of Peel who stumbled yet again.

The defending champions lost to St Johns in a seven goal thriller. 

Elsewhere, there was a first win of the season for Laxey who beat RCYOB 8-0 to leave the northerners pointless after five games. 

In the Ardern & Druggan Division 2, Foxdale moved to second place in the table after victory over Douglas & District.

Striker Jay Chatwood scored eight goals in an 11-0 hammering which saw The Miners record their third victory of the season.
