Douglas won their third Manx Cup in a row when they beat Vagabonds 22-8 at Ballafletcher in the 2014 Manx Cup Final.
Vagas took an early lead courtesy of an Aidan O’Shea penalty but it was short lived as Bryn Snellgrove struck at the other end within minutes to level it at three apiece.
Vagabonds regained the lead after 20 minutes when a Robbie Hunter try put them 8-3 in front.
The game opened up, however, when Vagas lost Franzy Germishuys to the sin bin.
While he was off, Daryn Thompson and Snellgrove both crossed for Douglas with Snellgrove converting one to lead 15-8 at half time.
In a tight second half, there was only one try with Douglas forging further in front when skipper Glyn Hooson-Owen crashed over and Snellgrove predictably added the extras.
After the match, Hooson-Owen praised Vagabonds for a tough game saying it was one of the hardest matches they’d had all season, adding he felt there was much more to come from his Douglas side.
