Early end to racing at Billown

Harrison and Reeves winners on the night

A red flag brought an early end to the final racing at the Southern 100 at Billown on Wednesday night.

An incident involving one sidecar at Ballawhetstone on the fifth lap resulted in the driver being checked by a doctor and the passenger being transferred to Noble’s Hospital.

The result was declared at the end of lap four with Tim Reeves and birthday boy Patrick Farrance as winners.

Earlier, there were wins for Michael Dunlop in the Senior and Ivan Lintin in the Supertwins – and Dean Harrison pipped Ivan Lintin to the line by just 0.037 seconds in the Radcliffe Butchers 600cc race: (play audio)

There's a full day of action at Billown scheduled for Thursday, with roads closed between 9.50am and 12.15pm, then from 1pm to no later than 5.30pm.

The Manx Gas Solo & Sidecar Championship races take place in the afternoon session.
