Election candidates submit nomination papers

Returning officers for next month's House of Keys general election have been overseeing the submission of nomination papers by the 60 plus candidates.

The final line-up of will be known at around 2pm today (Tuesday), after the papers have been approved and a further hour has been allowed for any objections to be raised.

Chris Cope, who is overseeing Douglas East, says it's a thorough process (listen to audio file below):

There are expected to be contests in all 15 constituencies for the first time in at least quarter of a century, with polling on Thursday, September 29.
