Sean Emmett has recorded 12 wins in the British Superbike Championship as well as 59 podiums, mainly on Ducati machinery.
Prior to BSB, the 36 year old had four seasons at the 500cc Grand Prix level.
Emmett was due to line up for his debut around the Mountain Course under the banner of the Speedfreaks/Ice Valley Racing Team.
