Organisers of the End 2 End Mountain Bike Challenge say they are happy with how the race went on Sunday, and are already thinking about how they can expand it next year.
The number of entries permitted - 1700 - will not increase, as that is seen as the maximum which can be accommodated practically on part of the course.
There were also around 300 non-starters, which weren't replaced, something which may be looked at for the future.
There are definitely plans to add more events to the programme, possibly turning it into a weekend festival.
