FA Cup semi-final line-up complete

Holders St George's and Peel joined Old Boys and Michael United in the semi-finals of the Cu Plas Manx FA Cup, with wins over St Mary's and Laxey respectively.

A fifth minute header from Keron Christian and a second half own goal, put past his keeper by Gary Williams, eased Premier League leaders Peel through, away to mid-table Laxey.

David Thomas had equalised for Laxey in the second half and they did have other chances, but couldn't make any of them count.

The turning point in the other match came when the St Mary's keeper Max Thomas was sent off, for handling the ball outside his penalty area.

After that St George's took control and booked their place in the last four with two goals from Jack McVey and one from Chris Bass junior.

St George's will entertain Michael and Peel will play away at Old Boys in the semi-finals, on Saturday, April 4.

In the Sure Mobile Premier League, bottom of the table Ayre had an unexpected 3-1 away win against local rivals Michael, with three second half goals, including strikes from Phil Quayle and Jason Craine.

There was more good news for Ayre in their fight for Premier League survival as the team immediately above them, Corinthians, lost 1-0 at Ramsey. It means they are now two points behind the Douglas side, with three games to play.

In the other Premier League game, Rushen consolidated fifth position, when they beat Union Mills 6-2 at Croit Lowey. The scorers for the home side were Josh Kelly and Paul Jones, with two each, and Chris Shimmin. There was also an own goal.
