Almost nothing separating both sides statistically ahead of huge clash

FC Isle of Man will be hoping to move one step closer to promotion when they host Wythenshawe Amateurs in their NWCFL Div 1 South play-off semi-final tomorrow night (9 April).

The Ravens secured the home tie and second place in the division with a narrow 2-1 victory over Abbey Hulton United at The Bowl last weekend (2 April).

Should FC IoM emerge victorious on Saturday evening, they would also be the home side for the play-off final on Saturday, 16 April.

However, if visiting Wythenshawe secure the win, they'd face an away tie in the final against either New Mills or Abbey Hey, who both face off in the other semi-final at New Mills' Church Lane ground tomorrow at 3pm.

For tomorrow's crunch tie at The Bowl, there's little to choose between the Ravens and Wythenshawe Amateurs when it comes to their head-to-head records.

Both sides played out a 2-2 draw at Hollyhedge Park back on 7 August last year, before FC IoM then beat 'The Ammies' 2-0 in the reverse fixture on Manx soil on 8 January.

In terms of across the season, there's also not much to separate the opponents - just four points between both as the league concluded last week.

Over 38 games, FC Isle of Man boast the better goalscoring record, having netted 123 compared to Wythenshawe's 102.

However, 'The Ammies' have a superior defensive record, conceding 46 goals in the regular season whilst FC IoM have let through 54.

The two teams also have the two top-scorers in the NWCFL Div 1 South this campaign.

FC Isle of Man's Sean Doyle took top spot over the regular season, scoring in the league 40 times, with Wythenshawe's Saul Henderson just behind with 37 league goals.

FC Isle of Man vs Wythenshawe Amateurs takes place at The Bowl this Saturday (9 April), kicking-off at 6.30pm.

Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary of the match on our AM1368 and Digital platforms.
