Late Gelling strike not enough to avoid back-to-back home defeats
A late push from FC Isle of Man was not enough as they fell to a narrow 2-1 defeat to NWCFL Premier Division title-hopefuls Chadderton on Saturday (14 March).
The league's top goalscorer, Lewis-Simon Byrne put Chadderton ahead inside nine minutes with what was his 50th league goal of the campaign.
After the break, Byrne struck again in the 69th minute to double his side's advantage.
With just under 15 minutes to go, the Manx side did pull one back courtesy of Sam Gelling in the 76th minute but ultimately it wouldn't stop FC Isle of Man from registering back-to-back home defeats.
Meanwhile, Chadderton's success propels them to within four points of Wythenshawe at the top of the table.
FC Isle of Man's next match will be at home against Cheadle Town on Saturday, 21 March, kicking-off at 6pm.
Manx Radio will be providing full live match commentary on our DAB and AM1368 channels.
