Ravens back in action after near two-week break

After another lengthy break since their last outing, FC Isle of Man head back on the road this weekend in the NWCFL Premier Division.

It's more new opposition tomorrow (29 August) too for the Manx squad as they take on a Trafford side which was relegated from the Northern Premier League system during the previous campaign.

The Islanders will be hoping to keep up a positive start to 2026/27 which currently sees them unbeaten in their first four matches.

Whilst it's been nearly two weeks since they last took to the field, FC Isle of Man Manager, Lee Dixon says it's given them an opportunity to work on other things in the meantime:

It's been 11 days since FC Isle of Man last kicked a ball in anger when a second-half Charlie Higgins penalty helped them to secure a 1-1 draw at newly-promoted Droylsden on Tuesday, 18 August.

Heading into the weekend, 'The Ravens' sit fourth in the NWCFL Premier Division standings with two wins and two draws from their opening four fixtures.

Meanwhile, their hosts tomorrow have also enjoyed a positive early start to things, with Trafford winning five of their opening six matches in all competitions.

It was also more recently Tom Baker's side were last in action with a 3-2 away success at Runcorn Linnets in the FA Cup Preliminary Round last Saturday (22 August).

Trafford vs FC Isle of Man is due to kick-off tomorrow at Shawe View at 2pm.

There are five changes to the FC Isle of Man squad which took part in their stalemate with Droylsden at The Butchers Arms.

Two of those who started that game - Kyle Watson and James Lowther - drop out as do Adam Adebiyi, Danny Gerrard and Josh Cain.

Will Cowin and Tomas Brown return to the squad whilst there's also call-ups for Lucas Watterson, Joe Middleton and Preston Cleator.
