Ravens slip to 3-1 loss against Cheadle Town
FC Isle of Man suffered a fifth straight defeat last night as the Ravens slipped to a 3-1 loss at Cheadle Town.
The hosts dominated the first half as Abdullahi Ahmed opened the scoring after 15 minutes, before a brace from Sheriff Njie gave Cheadle a three-goal advantage with 25 minutes played.
The Manx side created a couple of chances before the break, while Charlie Higgins struck early in the second half to get a goal back for the visitors, but they couldn't reduce the deficit further.
In a passionate post-match interview with the club's media, FC Isle of Man players Dean Pinnington and Sam Baines issued a rallying call to supporters to keep the faith in them that results will improve.
Both add that everyone in the squad accepts results haven't been good enough, that players should take responsibility for performances and all associated with the Manx side are doing their best to turn things around:
The result leaves FC Isle of Man at the bottom of the NWCFL Premier Division table.
Their next match is at the Bowl on Saturday against Charnock Richard.
