Fingers crossed ahead of FA Cup ties

Friday afternoon's heavy rain on top of yesterday's snow will present groundsmen with soggy playing surfaces to prepare ahead of Saturday's F.A. Cup Preliminary Round.

So far, no cup ties have been postponed but Douglas Corporation has deemed both pitches at Noble's Park unplayable for the weekend....so any games where Corinthians or Douglas Royal are at home are off.

Perhaps the Premier League team with most to fear from the F. A. Cup draw will be Ramsey who travel to Division Two promotion hopefuls Michael United.

There are two all top flight games - Ayre v St. John's and Laxey v Rushen.

Two of Division Two's basement clubs face tough trips to big clubs. Jurby go to Railway Cup winners Peel while Douglas & District visit The Bowl to play St. Mary's.

There are two all Division Two affairs - Castletown entertain Colby in a southern derby, and Onchan welcome Braddan to the Nivison Stadium.

Elsewhere, all the games are Premiership against Division Two - leaders St. George's host the Police, Corinthians travel to basement side Ramsey Youth Centre, Union Mills go to Billygoat Park for an encounter with Foxdale, and Gymns face Malew at Tromode.
