Quins' pull off escape

Bacchas A are champions again and Harlequins A have pulled off a top flight escape.

That’s after another dramatic day in the PwC Mixed Premier Division on Saturday.

Bacchas clinched a fifth successive title in style with an 8-3 success over Valkyrs A.

Kim Carney (two), Tom Wilson (two), James Harrison, Freya Duchars, Andy Whiting and Jonny Callow were the scorers in a memorable victory.

Valkyrs A will still finish in second place, despite Vikings A seeing off Bacchas B with ease.

Will Blake, Megan Roberts, Neil Crowe, Alex Birch and Steven Underwood were on target in 5-0 win.

Harlequins A are safe and will play a second successive year in the top flight.

That’s after goals from Nick Hamer and David Smith fired them to a 2-1 win at Celts who have been relegated instead.

Danny Kniveton scored their goal.
